Dunedin Academic Press
Dunedin Academic Press Ltd (Dunedin) is an independent academic publishing house based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Dunedin has as its main object the publication of first class works of scholarship and utility from undergraduate and equivalent level through to postgraduate and professional levels
Dunedin’s list reflects the world famous academic environment in Scotland; many of our authors are based at Scottish universities. However Dunedin’s list contains authors and subjects from across the wide academic world and our horizons are far broader than our immediate Scottish environment. Our list of representatives and distributors is worldwide.
One of the strengths of Dunedin is that we are able to offer our authors the individual support that comes from dealing with a small independent publisher committed to growth through careful treatment of its authors. Dunedin is concentrating its list and welcomes author approaches, particularly in the fields of:
- Anthropology & Ethnography
- Earth Sciences
- Education theory and policy
- Language Studies
- Health and Social Sciences, including Health Care
- History, particularly early modern history
- Music, particularly Singing
- Philosophy and the History of Ideas
In a major extension to our earth and environmental sciences list, Dunedin has acquired the books published under the Terra Publishing imprint. Please see the new subject listing or these books. New editions of many Terra titles are now in preparation for future publication as Dunedin titles. Dunedin continues to look after some Handsel Press publications also, see the Theology subject listing, although theology is not an are in which Dunedin is actively seeking new projects.
